Consumers have grown understandably concerned about the safety of drinking water supplies. We have witnessed contaminations line to natural disasters, catastrophes that dis­rupt electricity, and terrorist activities. They are past a few circumstances that may lead to the contamination of drinking water, thus leading to limited supply of safe drinking water.

Unless absolutely certain that the water is not contaminated, one should purify all water before using it for drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Most people would agree that there is a possibility that the municipal infrastructure that provides your drinking water could fail during an emergency. It is a little known fact, but insufficient water consumption is actually a risk factor for getting colon, breast, and urinary tract cancers such as cancers of the kidneys, bladder, prostate, and testicles. When the body is well hydrated, blood circulation is expanded and immune system cells can reach the cancerous tissues in greater numbers.
